About the event
Gold Coast are welcoming a new tournament product offering aimed at Red and Orange Ball Hot Shots players. The Gold Coast Red Ball Tournament Circuit (RTC) and Orange Ball Tournament Circuit (OTC) will aim to nurture players first tournament experience, and educate parents who are new to the game or are here the third time round, and unaware of the culture and behavior the Gold Coast are looking to cultivate at the bottom to impact the future of the sport.
The key point of difference about this tournament circuit is that it is player competency based to participate, and value based behaviors we will be emphasized and rewarded more prominently then winning. It is hoped that the success of both these tournaments will form the base of our player development pathway and see skilled players begin to progress through each stage of the pathway.
Players will be asked to have their coach sign off on a competency document saying they meet the standards of a Hot Shots Red Ball 3 and Orange Ball 2 to play. This document need only be returned once before a players first entry into the circuit and only performed again if they intend to move from Red to Orange. I have attached these document for reference and distribution to your players. The document will need to be returned before the event to either the Gold Coast Regional Assembly or myself. Players who enter and do not return this form will not be allowed to participate.
Orange ball ANZ Tennis Hot Shots events will be up to 10 years old as at the day of the tournament.

Event information for the tournament circuit can be found at :-https://www.tennis.com.au/qld/regions/gold-coast
Each player entering must submit a signed competency checklist before the tournament. This is a once off submission for both Red and Orange circuits i.e. if a player moves from red to orange they will have to submit the orange competency checklist before the tournament day.
This checklist can be downloaded off https://www.tennis.com.au/qld/regions/gold-coast and must be signed by the players’ coach and submitted to the Gold Coast Regional Assembly via goldcoastregionalassembly@gmail.com or to the Tournament Director on the day of the event. Failure to provide this will result in a players entry being declined.
Please see Coach Nick Thorpe to complete competency document.
