THANKS HERITAGE BANK
& TENNIS QUEENSLAND
Beaudesert & District Tennis Association receive Heritage Bank Grant!
A funding pool of $25,000 was available for eligible clubs between the amounts of $500 and $2,000. This funding was proudly offered by Heritage Bank, who partnered with Tennis Queensland to help build a sustainable tennis community across Queensland.
Projects eligible in the 2017 grant program aimed at attracting new players and servicing the greater community. This year, preference was given to initiatives that focused on increasing community engagement and aid sustainability of the club in the longer term. Beaudesert & District Tennis Associations “Tennis Support, Grow & FUN for families, kids and community project” which will provide the community with a family friendly, welcoming, affordable friendly environment that suits all families and young and old, and all tennis abilities.
Was successful and funding was approved for ANZ HotShot nets, balls, drop lines, racquets, and advertising banner which cost a total of $1137 with the grant covering $540, which was amazing.
It is important to us to increase the “family” & “active time” in our community. By introducing these changes. Parents in the community can be actively present in their children’s lives, participate in events with them, and teach our young community that being active is fun and important.
This project is increasing the community’s knowledge of what the club has to offer. More families are contacting us and joining the program. As we only have 4 functioning courts the addition of the HotShot nets now gives us the ability to have more games being played during HotShot fixtures and free's up one
court for Cardio Tennis which has proved a valuable asset to parents who can be participate in cardio while their children play HotShots. The equipment to run the HotShots program has boosted our junior memberships which in the past were declining & We are now able to hold school holiday workshops in the future.
The club has successfully incorporated this year
🎾 Flexible Family membership as today families are no longer 2 adults, 2 children.
🎾 change table facility in the bathroom
🎾 Friday Family FUN night, affordable at only $5 each but capped at $15 per family. With dinner offered in canteen
🎾 Afternoon Snack Packs for gold coin donation

🎾 Ladies social Tennis
Part 2. Of the “Tennis Support, Grow & FUN for families, kids and community project” we are looking at introducing;
• A lounged chill out area for all members including parents, feeding mothers, and a quite space for homework etc. to utilise during their visit to the club.
• A ball machine which could be used to help these young promising players with more growth & support
The growth also gives us the opportunity to upgrade two of our courts that are currently out of action.
